Mentorship & Transfer Nation

The non-traditional path is a legitimate path.

Abraham is a proud Transfer Nation member — part of a community that recognizes the community college-to-university pathway as a meaningful, rigorous, and often overlooked route into higher education and professional careers.

As an Army veteran who returned to school through Pierce College before transferring to UCLA, he navigated that pipeline firsthand. He is open to conversations with veterans and non-traditional students who are working toward a university transfer, exploring healthcare careers, or trying to understand what the path into nursing actually looks like.

He is especially interested in supporting men considering nursing — a profession that needs more of them. The work is meaningful, the demand is real, and the path is more accessible than it often appears.

Transferring to a four-year university

Community college is a real foundation — and the transfer pathway to nursing school works.

Veterans entering education

Transitioning from military service into a student role is its own adjustment. Abraham has been there.

Men in nursing

The profession needs more male nurses. If you're considering it, the conversation is worth having.

Psychiatric nursing as a career

Mental health care is one of the most important — and underserved — areas of nursing. Abraham is happy to talk about it.
